AMERICAN CLASSICAL ORCHESTRA

presents

The Magic Recorder

Saturday, November 9 at 2PM

(The duration of the concert will be approximately 50 mins)

Introduce your children to the pleasures of Baroque music in an age-appropriate, interactive and entertaining format presented by the American Classical Orchestra. The Magic Recorder features the firebrand international recorder star Horacio Franco, Maestro Thomas Crawford, garbed as Antonio Vivaldi, and Baroque cellist Sarah Stone. They will perform Baroque music, including Vivaldi’s Winter from the Four Seasons, on the recorder, harpsichord and Baroque cello. Mr. Franco is well known in his country, Mexico, and abroad and has been described by the international press as “one of the most distinguished recorder players of our time.” He will bring with him a range of recorders from his extensive collection, and demonstrate the differences between each instrument. Both children and adults will have an opportunity towards the end of the 50-minute performance to ask the virtuosi questions about their careers and instruments.

This is a FREE event but requires advance registration.
