For the first time since 2019, the Greenwich Arts Council is bringing back the annual Creative Achievement Awards to recognize outstanding high school juniors.

A collaboration with the Yale Voice Center at Greenwich Hospital at the intersection of Vocal Arts and Vocal Health.

In this program, The Art of Wellness, we will be joined by psychologist, author, and lecturer Dr. Dale Atkins for a thought-provoking conversation on the role of the arts in supporting emotional well-being, resilience, and connection.

On behalf of the Greenwich Arts Council, we invite you to support the 29th edition of Art to the Avenue. Live music will be performed by the renowned R&B band Nine of Hearts, performing in front of 299 Greenwich Avenue, home of the Greenwich Arts Council. The Grace Notes Choir will perform at the corner of West Elm Street and Greenwich Avenue. Additional live music performances by Greg Detroy & Mike & Vin will take place along Lewis Street and West Putnam Avenue.

The annual Kite Flying Festival returns to Greenwich Point Beach each spring in April. The Festival is sponsored by the Greenwich Arts Council & the Town of Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation.

Pianist Dr. Kunyoung Kim has extensive experience both as a performer and as a teacher. She was invited to perform the Rachmaninoff Second Concerto with the Russian Federal Orchestra at the Great Hall in Moscow and has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Smithsonian Institution, and the Kennedy Center for the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Mozart Festival, as well as in various universities and concert halls in Austria, Korea, Thailand, Russia, and the United States. Rebecca J Carda Leigh, concert pianist is the 2022 Steinway Top Teacher Award recipient for dedication to music education, artistry, quality, and exquisite musical expression.  Rebecca is the founder of the new Summer Concert Series and the First Friday Concert Series held at The Greenwich Arts Council with some concerts in Partnership with The Wallace Center.

Randall Atcheson is the epitome of a musical Renaissance man.  His gift of communicating the beauty of music in various forms has led to a decidedly versatile career as a much-sought-after artist in the classics as well as in pop and the sacred repertoire.  This versatility was evidenced early in life when he was recognized as a prodigy on both piano and organ. 

Atcheson was the winner of the first Juilliard Organ Competition and subsequently gave the premiere performance on the new pipe organ in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. He has performed at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and Blenheim Palace, England, and has made much-acclaimed piano debuts in Sydney, Australia; Jerusalem, Israel; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and much more. This isn’t an event you want to miss!

Naomi Onda, concert pianist, passed the special music theory class at Osaka College of Music when she was in the first grade of elementary school, and mastered all music theory just four years later. She joined the special ear training team at Miyagi Gakuin University in Sendai when she was in high school, and received special intensive training. Naomi continued her music education and graduated from Osaka University of Arts, obtaining a master's degree. Her awards and honors are numerous, and include winning the Sakai City New Face Philharmonic Award.

New York based singer-songwriter Yoshiko Watanabe has been performing live both in the U.S. and Japan, alongside being a gospel singer and running her own music school. She is known for teaching Eurhythmics — a physical approach to teaching and learning musical concepts through body movement, ear training, and improvisation — and piano. We are delighted to announce the 14th Biennial International Mini Print exhibit has arrived to GAC’s Bendheim Gallery, made possible by the Center for Contemporary Printmaking! The exhibition is comprised of miniature prints by artists from various different countries including artists from U.S. states.
