David Licata is an artist from White Plains, New York. He received an MFA in Metalsmithing from Cranbrook Academy of Art, as well as a BFA in Sculpture and BS in Art Education from SUNY New Paltz. His intricate torchworked glass works vary from wearable chain mail to interactive nature based sculptures, and have been displayed at a length of exhibitions. This includes SOFA NY, SOFA Chicago, Glass Weekend, Talente 09 and the Glass Art Society conference’s Glass Fashion Show in Venice, Italy. David has worked as a high school art teacher in Bedford and Scarsdale and taught glass workshops at various craft centers such as Peter’s Valley, Brookfield Craft Center, Penland and Urban Glass. He previously worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art as an Associate Preparator in the Musical Instruments Department.
